In doing so you’ll be able to make sure that you have enough inclusion to flag Google during the indexing process without having to form awkward sentences to pigeonhole the keyword targetted.
Optimal Length for On-Page SEO
Length is an important factor.
In the past, a quick article could rank pretty easily. These days, you’ll have to be longer just to compete.
The question remains open, but for the most part, long-form content which is 1,900 words or more tends to perform the best in the SERPs. It actually varies by niche, so you can scope how long your competition’s articles are for a closer figure.
That doesn’t mean you should just carry on to reach the word limit, however. Google will pick up on content which isn’t relevant, instead, you should explore the topic in as much depth as required.
If you’re not going to do that then 1,900-2,000 words is a good mark to aim for.
Landing pages and other pieces of web content which don’t lend themselves to longer content shouldn’t be lengthened to meet this unless it’s completely natural, however.
It’s all about context but longer informational content just performs better in the long run.
Make It the Best

If your go-to is opening a new document or WordPress post you’re doing it wrong.
Instead, you need to take a look at who’s ranking for that keyword. From there, you simply have to top their content for a good chance of getting through the SERPs.

As a general rule, however, if you can top the content on the top three to five pages linked in your Google search, you’re on the way to something great as long as you can get the whole SEO strategy together.

Picture optimization is an essential component, however. You should make careful use of alt-text since increased accessibility to your page is a ranking factor. It’s extremely easy to implement as well, although it can be time-consuming if you haven’t done it from the start.
If you’re using WordPress or another CMS that allows for easy changing of a picture’s size you should do it while implementing the post.
Shrinking a photograph to the exact dimensions saves on load time. If it’s displaying at 500×500 pixels but you jam one which is 1800×1800 in there the viewer’s connection loads the larger version and then resizes it.
That can mean multiple megabytes of downloads that don’t do the viewer any good but still slow things down.
While site speed is actually more of a technical SEO issue it’s easy to incorporate into your workstream while creating content.
A picture every 200-500 words, depending on the page’s layout, is a good start to keeping people engaged with your content.
Your web page needs to have a responsive design.
And we don’t mean just the fact that all of your links work.
Instead, you need to be able to use the same site across multiple devices. People aren’t just using the internet on their computer anymore.
More than half of your readers are using some form of a mobile device to access your web page. That’s quite a chunk of people and most of them are just going to leave if they need to zoom in and manually move around a web page.
